Webinar: The Role of the Packhouse in Food Safety

13 August 2018

This webinar will look at the main food safety risks in the packhouse environment and how those pathogens can survive, indeed proliferate, in fruit and vegetable packhouses if the right controls are not in place.

Businesses need to start with a thorough risk assessment to identify packhouse food safety hazards. We will be discussing what to look for, such as water, waste, sanitising and equipment design.

The webinar will look at how those pathogens survive in the packhouse and how attention to packhouse and equipment design can go a long way towards managing pathogens. This includes new installations and modifications to existing lines.

The webinar will be presented by Dimitri Tavernarakis, Design Engineer and Hygiene Specialist with global packhouse equipment manufacturer Compac. Dimitri works with Compac customers around the world to ensure that food safety is a high priority and built into equipment and packhouse design and installation.
